So.

I'm 24, and I pay $122 in insurance, every paycheck. That's my company's Blue Cross Blue Shield ppo, my dental, and my vision. This is going to continue for me as long as I'm with the company and am paying for it. It still doesn't cover a lot of what I need to have taken care of.

But the reason I have it? I can deal. I have to deal. Part of the reason I went the last 5 years without any kind of coverage at all was because I was never a full-time employee, I wasn't in school, and my stepfather's plan wouldn't cover me either because technically they still saw that my father is military and figured I was getting coverage from that. I've been denied coverage from various companies FIVE. TIMES. due to pre-existing conditions and medical history. *eta And also I was still denied AHCCCS even when I was making a bare $350 a check working for the city and couldn't afford THEIR insurance. Can't forget that. I was denied because I overqualified by $35 in pay.* When I worked for GameStop and fucked my stomach up and was sick all through jan/feb 07 I wound up paying for that entire fiasco because Aetna considered it to be pre-existing. Pre-existing, when I had the proof that my insurance had begun three weeks before I got sick. That was about $900 no, make that just over $1100 total when all was said and done. And I'm STILL paying it.

I just want to say that if you think I'm buying into some bullshit "propaganda" about any of the reform possibilities, you really just ought to keep your head up your fucking ass so the rest of us don't have to fucking hear you. Beggars can't be choosers and you and your friends ought to get educated about what's going to happen with the reform. You're kept in the dark and if there's anyone here acting blindly on what they're fed it's you. You're not even affected by this personally.

And even if I don't know if -I- will be personally affected by any of this I know that by the end of June 2010 I hope I have some idea of what is available to me if my job fails me like I have the feeling it will.

So enjoy your cheap-ass insurance, and rest easy knowing that your shit attitude, while it may piss some of us off enough to think you're pathetic, is only raising YOUR blood pressure even more. And you're covered for that completely. Golden. I'm glad for you.

If you want to make sweeping generalizations you'd better be prepared for someone to step up to your face and say "Fuck you, you're offending me." Hi. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with consultants for applying to grad school in the UK. Two of the university's I would like to go to recommend the companies I am using or say to contact them for any information regarding the school. Both are free and I do everything online so no sending anything through postage (at least not yet). My sister went through one for Australia and it went fine. I was just wondering if anyone had an experience or what you think if the school has them listed on their website. The schools I am looking into are Falmouth, Bristol, University of Chester and Sunderland for TV production. The schools that use the agents directly are Bristol and Sunderland and the companies also have the other two schools on their site.

I'm learning Japanese and I would like a variety of resources to help me retain my Japanese vocabulary.  I prefer resources that have pictures or are interactive.  I already have a beginner's work book.  I know Hiragana and most Katakana and want to be learning Kanji.  Free is appreciated, but I'm also willing to put out some cash for physical copies of books, flash cards, etc..

Hey, all.  I was here before asking about how much money I should save up, and you were all very helpful-- thank you!  I'm right on track with my savings.

Now I'm starting to really think about getting a job while I'm there, too, just so I have more wiggle room in my budget.  Honestly, I'm not expecting something that pays very well, and it doesn't have to be some spectacular resume-building experience, either, I just want some extra cash.  I'm an American student who will have a Visa that allows me to work, and I'll be in London in the spring.  Will it be possible/at all likely for me to find any type of part time work?

Note: No, my university does not offer many jobs, and what they do offer seem to be only for work-study people... which I am not.
